Who's Liz?
I’m a national board certified health & wellness coach, a certified life coach, certified integrative wellness coach, resiliency trainer, certified wellness program coordinator, and trained crisis counselor with 10 years of experience teaching yoga and meditation.
But I didn't always prioritize my wellbeing.
My Journey to Wellness
I started my career with a degree in landscape architecture from the University of Maryland in 2009. After graduation, I moved to New York City, where I've lived and worked for 12 years. My early career was all about architecture, both general contracting and design. My path to wellness began in 2013 after a biking accident left me with a broken collarbone. Unable to keep up with my usual activities, a friend suggested I try yoga, and it stuck with me. Since 2013, I've taught yoga through partnerships with companies like Lululemon, Athleta, and Macy's.
While I was diving into yoga, my dad started battling severe depression, which eventually led to a diagnosis of MCI, then dementia, and finally Alzheimer's. This deeply personal experience pushed me towards meditation in 2015 as a way to protect my own mental health.
Shifting Gears
By 2014 I’d transitioned to working client side on the Architecture team at Christian Dior. Despite loving my job at Dior, I found myself increasingly passionate about mindfulness and wellness. I started going on silent retreats and learning more about stress reduction through meditation.

After 5 years I began feeling burnt out at work and realizing my health was on the line, I decided to shift my focus towards helping others, especially those struggling with chronic conditions and diseases, much like my dad. In 2019 I was thrilled to be working in health care, at a heart health startup managing wellness events.
When the pandemic hit in 2020, it felt like the world was telling me it was time to step up and make a BIG difference. Losing my job at the startup turned into an opportunity to work as a crisis counselor and then become a certified life coach. I took a position at White Plains Hospital as a wellness coach for frontline workers. After a year, I moved to New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Columbia University, where I worked on the HR team, coached employees and ran wellness workshops for clinical staff.
The Future of Wellness
After 3 years of working as a wellness coach and losing my dad to Alzheimer's in April 2023, I decided it was time to focus on my health and wellbeing. In September 2023, I founded Liz Coaches LLC to make wellness more accessible to populations outside of healthcare, and I began my training to become a certified integrative wellness coach.
Inspired by my dad's entrepreneurial spirit and my desire to build a happy and healthy life for myself and my family, I have been working full-time for myself since September 2023. I help people move from overthinking to taking action to improve their mental, physical, and emotional well-being.
I love supporting my clients to make sustained behavior change, increase clarity, improve confidence and find direction. I help my clients to create a simple, step by step plan to support them in reducing stress, improving sleep, managing their weight, designing a fitness routine, improving relationships, time management and finding more fulfillment in their career.
