Frequently asked questions

  • What is coaching?

Coaching is a client-centered approach to working with individuals to address their health and wellbeing. In coaching sessions we get clear on your goals, obstacles and create plans to move you forward.

Coaching sessions are action focused. We acknowledge the interconnection of mind, body and spirit, as well as the self-healing capacity within ourselves.

My approach to coaching is formulated from almost 3 years coaching over 200 clients. I combine foundations of mindfulness based stress reduction, crisis counseling, non-violent communication, self-compassion, motivational interviewing, integrative health coaching and harm reduction psychotherapy. I meet clients where they are, provide continuous support, non-judgement, kindness, compassion and encouragement.

  • How do coaching and therapy differ?

Our coaching conversations will touch on habits from the past and our sessions will give you the tools to live your best life now and moving forward.

In a therapy session you will meet with a trained counselor to address your mental and emotional health.

There are many challenges that require support from a therapist or psychiatrist. Some of those challenges include depression, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, ODC, ADD, and thoughts of taking your own life.

Taking care of your mental health is critical. If you are looking for a therapist, contact your insurance company to find an in network counselor. Also, your community can be your biggest asset. Friends, co-workers and family members can have excellent referrals.

  • How do you have so much energy?!

Baby, I was born this way. Just kidding! Maintaining balanced energy is a practice (just like meditating). All day every day I am using the mental note "will this support my life energy or drain it?". I deliberately breathe into my belly to contain my energy, I exercise to increase energy and I close my eyes to conserve energy.

  • What's your secret to staying positive?

I am grateful to be alive and healthy. I have so much to be thankful for and I remind myself of that as often as I can throughout the day. And by the way ... happiness is a choice and a practice.

My morning routine keeps me grounded. I start my day positively by reading, writing, meditating and moving.

I also continue to work on my own personal-development. I have an incredibly supportive community, team of co-workers and group of family and friends that keep me motivated and happy.

  • What payments do you accept?

I also accept payment by Zelle.

Currently I do not accept insurance, however it may be possible to receive reimbursement for our sessions by your health plan. Our sessions may count towards your deductible when using an out-of-network provider.
