Common Questions

Integrative Wellness Coaching

What is Integrative Wellness Coaching?

Integrative Health and Wellness (IHW) Coaching is a client-centered approach to working with individuals collaboratively to address the health and wellbeing of the whole person with an emphasis on self-care.

Our sessions will be action focused. We acknowledge the interconnection of mind, body and spirit, as well as the self-healing capacity within ourselves.

My coaching approach is formulated from over 4 years coaching nearly 400 clients. I combine foundations of mindfulness based stress reduction, crisis counseling, non-violent communication, self-compassion, motivational interviewing, integrative health coaching and harm reduction psychotherapy.

I meet clients where they are, providing continuous support, non-judgement, kindness, compassion and encouragement. Please email liz@lizcoaches.com for a handout on IHW.

How soon can I expect results after enrolling in a coaching program?

Most clients experience noticeable results after the very first session. Many have reported feeling clearer, more attuned to their needs and goals, and highly motivated to take action right away.

Typically, clients observe both internal and external progress by our fourth session.

How do coaching and therapy differ?

Our coaching conversations will touch on habits from the past, and our sessions will give you the tools to live your best life now and moving forward.

In a therapy session you will meet with a trained counselor to address your mental and emotional health.

There are many challenges that require support from a therapist or psychiatrist. Some of those challenges include depression, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, ODC, ADD, and thoughts of taking your own life.

Taking care of your mental health is critical. If you are looking for a therapist, contact your insurance company to find an in-network counselor. Also, your community can be your biggest asset. Friends, co-workers and family members can have excellent referrals.

What payments do you accept?

I accept payment by Check, Credit Card, Venmo, Zelle and PayPal. If paying by credit card, a 3-3.5% processing fee will be applied.

I offer payment plans by request.

Once you've had your free discovery call and you've decided that coaching is your best fit, I will send you a contract and payment information.

Currently I do not accept insurance, however it may be possible to receive reimbursement for our sessions by your health plan. Please reach out to your insurance to see if you qualify for reimbursement.

For providers - The AMA has approved three Category III CPT codes for health and wellness coaches, for sessions at least 30 minutes. Read more about the possibility of reimbursing here

People frequently ask how I stay so positive. The answer lies in consistent practice.

I am grateful to have learned coaching tools that help me reframe my thoughts and coach myself when I need a boost. Through this practice, I've discovered an abundance of things to be grateful for.

Most importantly, I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to help my clients live full and fulfilling lives.
